Day 2, 10th June 2010, 10:15 - 'Myth-busting – Everything you wanted to know about LED Lighting but were afraid to ask!’
David Scott-Maxwell is Research & Development Manager at Forge Europa and is responsible for all the company’s LED Component and LED Applications innovation and development.David has spent the last 6 years in the LED industry but has previously worked in a wide variety of manufacturing industries including 8 years in laser mastering for optical discs, 6 years in subcontract electronics design and 3 years in semiconductor processing equipment design. He is a professional Electronics Engineer with a varied background in hardware and software design but is a strong advocate of engineering design from first principles, whatever the discipline. This philosophy has helped establish a multidisciplinary engineering team at Forge Europa that is equipped with the wide range of skills required to design professional LED-based products. The innovative work of the Forge Europa team has recently been recognized in the company’s receipt of a 2009 Queens Award for Enterprise in the Outstanding Innovation category.
